What is Oxygen precipitates (BMD)?

Tiny defects formed inside a CZ silicon wafer when its oxygen precipitates during heat treatment. Also called BMDs (bulk micro defects), they serve as gettering sites that capture metal impurities.

Field: Silicon wafers
